@ "I Deserve It" ... (I'm sorry) YOU DON'T

What I mean is ...
.. You work harder than anyone else and they get the promotion
.. You study more than your friend and he gets an 'A' and you get a 'C'
.. You're honest, trusted, help others and give time and effort to help others and yet no one recognizes all you do
.. Your team works hard but does not place in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place
.. You can say "wait, I/we deserve it ... and Grandpa says "no you don't"

Now I may sound mean. Why? because throughout your youth and growing up you have been told by your parents and grandparents that if you do the right thing, or work hard or study more you should do very well on a test or in a sport or in life. However, no one has promised if you did all the right things you should 'deserve' everything. 

…but the truth is – generally, we all receive in life what we are truly owed in life, and no more. We all get what is just and due on account of the work we put in, and what we become. We all get what we deserve ... and usually not more.

Success isn’t given ... Money isn’t given ... Possessions aren’t given ... Confidence isn’t given ...  Strength isn’t given ... Happiness isn’t given ... Life, itself, isn’t given ... IT'S EARNED!

Finally ... because all we earn in life isn’t because of what we’ve done to earn that success, but of who we became to earn that success at all; of the person we became that made those successes possible.

And until that day – until that day we’ve done all we can, and done all we need – we don’t deserve anything more.
